Convert between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin instantly.

Temperature conversion, with worked examples

Choose the field you know

Type a value into Celsius, Fahrenheit or kelvin. The other fields update immediately. Clear empties all three fields. These are temperatures at a point, not temperature differences: converting a change of 10 °C to a change of 18 °F uses a different treatment from converting the temperature 10 °C.

The exact relationships

Fahrenheit = Celsius × 9/5 + 32. Kelvin = Celsius + 273.15. Thus 0 °C is 32 °F and 273.15 K; 100 °C is 212 °F and 373.15 K. The display rounds to two decimals, so preserve the original value when precision matters.

Use and limitations

This tool changes units; it cannot calibrate a thermometer, compensate for altitude or determine food safety. Negative kelvin values are outside the ordinary thermodynamic scale and are rejected. Use the manufacturer’s limits and appropriate safety guidance for equipment, cooking or clinical measurements. Formula reference: NIST, SI Units – Temperature.
